The Aim:

To create a new title sequence and graphics package for Blue Peter that would celebrate and re-assert the fact that Blue Peter remains at the forefront of children’s television.

The Solution:

BBC Broadcast created a design package that celebrates the relationship that Blue Peter’s audience - always proactive and keen to contribute - has with the programme. This unique bond is portrayed in the title sequence when children and presenters join together to hoist the ship’s sails and literally ‘launch’ each show.

With the programme’s iconic heritage in mind, the traditional Blue Peter ship was kept and the graphic sail shapes are mirrored and brought to life throughout the whole title sequence and graphics package.

The Results:

The new design was launched in September 2004. Results are yet to be confirmed.
